Now Voyager's public spaces are refitted with chic, contemporary furnishings, carpets, wall coverings and new lighting throughout.
Cabins also underwent a thorough makeover, with updated upholstery, window treatments, carpeting and wall coverings. Expect a smorgasbord of nationalities, mainly well-educated, upscale folks.
Fifty percent or more are typically repeat passengers. On our seven-night Mediterranean cruise, 29 different nationalities were onboard, including U.
As Regent originates from and is based in North America, passengers from this part of the world are usually in the majority. To some extent, of course, the variance of nationalities onboard also depends on where the ship is sailing, with more American passengers when the ship sails in Asia, for example.
Regent reports that the average age is 60, but we found a mixed age group dominated by retirees. It's not unusual for grandparents to bring extended families on cruises, and the number of cruisers under 18 trends from virtually none on longer cruises during the school year to a larger number during vacation time and on shorter cruises.
There were 50 young people onboard during our seven-night cruise in June. Until 6 p. Bare feet are only acceptable on the Pool Deck, and bathing suits are not allowed in the restaurants or lounges at any time -- though they can be worn at the Pool Grill and Bar.
From 6 p. Jeans aren't allowed in restaurants or lounges in the evenings. On cruises of 15 nights or longer, two evenings are "Formal Optional.
On the final evening of the cruise, when everyone is busy packing to go home, the dress code sensibly is "relaxed casual.
For United States passengers, flights to the embarkation city and home from the disembarkation city are included in the cruise fare.
Flight segments within the U. If you want to designate your airline or routing, there's an additional fee.
Beverages are also included, aside from a few ultra-premium liquors and high-end wines. A perfectly tasty Champagne flows freely, and your favorite call liquor brand likely is included, too.
But if you opt for Veuve Clicquot, you'll pay extra. Each restaurant pours a selected red and a white wine nightly, but if those wines aren't to your taste, you can request alternatives.
Passengers in Concierge-level suites or above receive an included hotel night and transfers prior to the cruise. Wifi was adequate, though it occasionally dropped off to zero at points along the cruise.
Oh, good grief…. My wife and I had a running competition to see who had the higher number of tries to unlock the suite door.
I won with 9 tries. Food quality is subjective; service is not. I want my food to come without flourish and fanfare. But certain basics are non-negotiable - particularly when Regent charges a premium for it.
Orders were mislaid or forgotten, wrong dishes were delivered, or delivered very late…etc. This happened at every single food outlet including Prime7 , and at almost every meal.
We never got through a single meal without something going wrong. This sad experience was shared by numerous passengers we chatted with. I would not accept this level of service from ANY restaurant, and am disappointed to have had to accept it from Regent.
Staff on deck were great, always ready to offer towels and water. The pool deck often got crowded though, especially on sea days.
Will I cruise Regent SS again? Perhaps when I hear that the food service has improved, or if the prices drop significantly, or after the next upgrade.
Find a Cruise. Traveller rating. Selected filters. Horrible costumer service. We are extremely disappointed with Regent Seven Seas.
My wife and I have taken many wonderful cruises with friends and family in the past with RSSC. Unfortunately, our experience at the beginning of this year was unacceptable.
Last year we planned another cruise with RSSC to Southeast Asia — 18 days from mid-February to March Because of COVID19, one day before our departure we were informed of a change of itinerary.
Our final port of Hong Kong was closed and we were informed that our final destination was unknown. At that time, more cities were shutting down, specifically in Asia, and horror stories of cruises were surfacing.
We therefore made the difficult decision to cancel the cruise. We have contacted RSSC frequently since then and have been given the same answer — no refund, only credit, with booking to be completed by February — 3 months from now.
Cruising is still very risky at this time and into the foreseeable future. It is still a current health risk to travel, especially on cruises.
We understand these are difficult times but, after contacting RSSC many times and spending countless hours speaking to representatives, after 10 months nothing has been resolved.
It is unfortunate this company is showing their true colors during a time of a heath crisis. Read more. Helpful Share. Marilyn wrote a review Mar Ower, United Kingdom 1 contribution.
We had planned a trip to Australia to visit friends and decide to include a cruise from Singapore to Sydney. This was our first cruising experience and I hasten to say our last!
We decided on Regent after reading the brochures which stated we would experience six star ultimate luxury were understandably high.
Our first impression of our aft suite was disappointing. The cabin decor and fixtures and fittings were well worn, particularly the bathroom.
I must add that our butler was excellent - she made every effort to ensure we were completely satisfied and nothing was too much trouble. The food on board ranged from excellent to terrible.
Many of the staff were obliging but clearly poorly trained. The two speciality restaurants were very good but making a reservation proved difficult as they were invariably fully booked.
The excursions were reasonably well organised but many of them fully booked even though we attempted to book at the earliest opportunity.
We found the evening shows very much like the restaurant service - a couple of the entertainers were embarrassingly awful!
I'm sorry Regent - our experience of the Seven Seas Voyager fell way short of your promise of "Six Star Ultimate Luxury" and not deserving of anything like six stars.
